Little Orleans

We rented PATC's Little Orleans cabin for a few days and took some nice bike rides on the C&O Canal, including a trip to the Paw Paw tunnel, a 3,118 foot tunnel that was built to take 6 miles off the canal route by going through a mountain instead of following the many bends in the river. Animal sightings included two pairs of mating rat snakes, several beavers (including a dead one at the foot of a waterfall), lots of zebra swallowtails and other butterflies, and a beautiful corn snake.
